*Poof* There goes the year end festive season...which had been filled with lotsa merrymaking, fun, delicious foodies, gatherings, laughters, joy, smiles....
But hidden behind all that year end cheeer is a brainful of thoughts, reflections, regrets and somewhat an uptightness about the year that lies ahead....
2006 has been a year pepperd with extreme highs and extreme lows at various points in time. Pretty much like a yo-yo....Which means this hasnt been an easy year or rather a pretty challenging yea...but with God's amazing grace, somewhat survived (without any mental breakdown that is! ha!)
Reflections....
1) Failed badly a a filial daughter n grand daughter this year.
Felt that I have not been spending enough time with family n granny
Looking back fills me with guilt. I should have been more patient, more loving, more supportive, more caring..more more more of just LOVE... guess I had been quite an escapist. I have been running away from some problems rather than dealing with it. . . Worst regret of the year. Will definitely aim to change and improve this year.
2) Had a near-far relationship with God this year which is bad. N currently at a distance. Bad bad bad...Ministry wise, haven been spending as much time as I should in Solid Rock. =(
3) The Nepal mission trip was indeed one of the major highlights of the year. Was a humbling experience...Looking at how joyful people were even in a difficult n harsh environment fills me with thoughts on what are my main sources of joy in life? Are they all worthy of the importance I place on them?
4) Change in career. I can proudly say that this change in career is a fufilment of a resolution I made back in 2005 for 2006! Only one fufilled! The whole process of changing jobs was extremely challenging. Things stabilised after abt 2 months into the job...n then took a turn again with changes in mgmt and all...Though the going got tough, Im very extremely thankful for the lovely crazy fun mad teammates I have, or rather more as friends now....Spent the bulk of the 2nd half of the year with them....n enjoying their company! =P
5) Attended countless weddings of close frens this year (more to come)!!!.... Raine n Ronald's, Jasmin n JianMing's, Elynn n Jackie's, Wenhui n Junlong's, Guishan n Wenhe's! Was all so sweeeeeet n romantic!! To witness the Union of 2 is indeed such a bliss.
6) Watched very much less tv this year. Used to love chasing drama serials etc..but that doesnt provide as much entertainment now as it used to......Decided that the minimal time I have at home is much better spent somewhere else rather than sitting in front of the square box
7) Had minimal holidays this year...Bangkok, Japan n a short getaway to Melaka as a closure to the year! But Quality over Quantity...All were really fun!!! Bangkok was all about shopping and eating and having fun with the crazies and Japan was all about being amazed at uniquely Japanese inventions n culture n the beautiful autumn scenaries...n Melaka, all abt a warm family bonding time =)
8) Over-eating. Maybe it was the stress, mayb it was the extreme highs and lows, i think I overate this year n have been eating too much unhealthy food (esp COFFEE CLUB..my overtime food).......Put on a lt of weight...n haven been exercising much for the past 6 months. I ought to get a hold on my eating habits
9) The Big Move for the Church. Pastor Mark was givin thanks abt the new churc building on his last sermon of the year yesterday...N truly the move was indeed a big milestone for the church n us the members....Finally we have a place we can call 'home'! No more nomads! =) Praise God!

Resolutions....1) Get things right with God n His ministries
2) Have a more work-life balanced lifestyle....Will aim to spend more quality family time with mum dad sistas n visit nai nai more often...
3) Love never fails...be slower to anger n richer in love
4) Be Cheerful n Joyful always. Smile at the Storm.
5) Make a trip to NYC/Portland/Sanfran to visit friends
N of cos....YELLOWSTONE! Hopefully the Grand Reunion there in July/Aug will come to past..
6) LOSE Weight!! Exercise More!! Watch my nutrition intake!! Eat more vitamins n supplements n Drink more Water!! Eat Lesser lesser lessssser junkies!
7) Make the effort to keep in touch and meet up more often with dear ol' frens
8) Buy a Labtop!!!
9) 2005-I picked up Diving
2006-I picked up Salsa
2007-I wanna pick up Golfing n Scrapbooking!!!
10) Get a Labtop
11) no more wasteful shopping sprees..Save More Spend Less
12) Read more...be it story books, magazines, journals, etc.....
13) Get married!!!! wahahahahahahaaaaa
