yes! ive MOVED!

YES!

FInally...i've moved to reading place!!!
Spent my first night on the 26th JUly!
But my proper mattress is only delivering next sat...so 1 week of sleeping on a mattress 5cm thick! Aiyo! ! ! ! but so far so goooood..... =)

Living alone aint easy...gotta learn to be more 'equipment and housework' smart! But its all gooooood! =) Doing my own laundry, cleaning up the house, the toilet, changing the curtains, packing my , buying a chair, etc...everything is now DIY!!!!Good training!

OOOooh n on sat, i went grocery shoppping!!! Bought things like soya sauce, sugar, salt, peppers...things I never ever needed to worry about back home.....Wow..I suddenly feel so GROWN UP! (whahahaha). BUt it was fun!! Stocking up the kitchen...

On Friday nite...i finshed work at 11.30pm (latest record so far booo hooo hoo)..n came home to eat microwavable Chicken and Mushroom RIce! IT was pretty good....n its all because...of my POPO CHILLI!!!! YUMMMMMM












Oooh...SHerine ( a fren i met thru Raine's and Joan's weddings) was here over the weekend!

Went out to have some good fun with some of the barcap peeps!! =) LKF was totally squishy! they had some festival there. ooh and for the first time, the police paid a visit to the club we were in!!! It was prety exciting! THe lights were turned on sudddenly...and the 'troop' marched in..checking pple who look under age (they didnt check me! blehhhh i look old)

N finally ate the Ba Bao Tang that Sam was rattling and praising to the skies about the whole nite...it was pretty good..like yong tau foo!















N amazingly.after a late late nite...i managed to wake up for CHURCH!! Praise God!
VIsited ECCHK church TODAY with 2 colleagues, Patrick and VIcki (n met Phin's fren Aaron there!)! FINAALLLY!

I was really excited. Haven gone to church for the past 2 weekends due to different factors (yes excuses I know hahaa)...so was realy excited to run to church today to Praise God...I miss church..i miss our services...i miss playing for the services...

today when I saw the keyboard on stage..i had this urge to wanna run up there to play!! hahaa...guess serving in the music ministry has become such an integral part of me over the past..hmm8 years? Although I always complain how tired the practices are etc etc..but deep in me...I enjoy serving God in this manner....I enjoy runnig my figgures thru the keys...I like playing freely for the Lord.... well...Lets pray and watch how GOd leads me in HK...whether or not I get to serve in this aspect, its all up to His timing.....to those in the worship ministry.cntinue to perservere !! it may be physically tiring to play week in and out...but spiritutally refreshing to be serving the Lord every week!! =)

Ok a bit more abt EC...firstly.its an ENGLISH speaking church! =)
The service was held at Marriot Hotel today. They like us (well used to hah) do not have a church building..so they are a little 'nomadic' in nature. THough the services are usually held at the HK convention centre. But when they are not able to book the place, they will hold the services at other venues..so today was Marriot! (brought back memories of our CNY/anniversaries services at Marriot Spore =))

The crowd is pretty much from mid 20s to old....A lot of working expats and professionals form the congregation. So well, we pretty much have the same 'secular' background...which I thought is great! Service wise, the congregation is a bit more mellowed than COSB in terms of the clapping, dancing etc during praise n worship.THere was minimal clapping and raising of hands. But Iguess, the manner of worship aint impt...whats more impt are the hearts of the pple. I must say I was touched during the service. Especially when they sang HolyHolyHoly...Jesus Lord Almighty.. I was overwhelmed once again abt the awesomenes of Jesus Christ. How He has sacrificed for us...although we are all sinners. Well, this is a fact. But many times, I need to be reminded of His holiness and grace over and over again. *=(*

N the sermon was very apt too. The pastor (realy humoros guy) spoke about being STILL and calm before th Lord. "Be STILL and know that I am God"..He said in this fast paced HK society, we need to be still and calm and take time to listen to Him. This realy spoke to me. Hving been here for hte past 3 to 4 weeks now, its sooo easy to be lured away and wiggle out of God's words. We need to learn to be still in His presence, amidst the fast moving pace of work and life in general. =)

Still not sure if I am going to stay in this church for good. Gonna visit a few other churches in the next few weekends. Pray for guidance ! =)

HAI! Theres a story behind the below pic. SHerine is flying back tonite...so she had limited HKD cash..and me too! I haven got my pay...n i spent evrything so i had 0 HKD!!! So.....we could only have ONE krispy kreme donut to be shared...how pathetic it was..haha














Did some shopping at H&M too!!! I was surprised that the prices were pretty reasonable and they had some nice clothes there! But didnt buy too much....cos I had to sign on my SG credit card..not sure how the exchange rates will be like haha

I stil behave like a TOURIST!
















ok great..the washing machine is almost done with the clothes...need to get them all out and hang em! byebyeeee

Weekend Bliss Blitz

It was a fantastic WEEKEND last week!!! Bonus of the weekend: TELLI WAS HERE!!!!


So happi!! She's my first visitor in HK!!! MUACKS! ! ! =)

Had a busy busy weekend......!!!

1) Met up with Dani and the infamous PETER PAN and also his Jap fren !!!

We had Tony Roma's!! Haven't had that for a long long time!!
The nite was alright!....with Peter Pan talking most of the time wahhaaaa!!

Thanks DANI for flying down to introduce Peter Pan to us!!! haha! I will attend his church one weekend!! =)))

2) Went to Sai Kung on saturday!! ! Famous for SEAFOOOD!!!! Cause it is by the coast!! (but I didnt get to eat the seafood this time! Next time in a big group!)

This is a small little nice town about 45 mins by bus/MTR off Hong Kong city. Once you are at the town..you can take boat rides to either an island to go swimming or to golf or to wakeboard. We took a boat ride to the island for swimming! but didnt go prepared with swimming gear..so ended up eating ice cream n watching beachies.

Hong Kong is simply amazing! The city area is very city..but just about 45 mins away...are many beeeeaaautiful islands!!! Take look at the pictures!!

well...its a teeennnyy weeennnyyy one...but....i really thank God for the whole process...!! He has really blessed me with this apartment..but guys..very sorry..its tiny..like a bird cage!!

Only have a single bed....but of cos u guys can bunk! but maybe only 1 or 2 at a time! hahaha..just look at the pics and video,,,..n u guys can decide ok?? =))) but would love to have all of u over of cos.....!! sleep at balconY? kitchen? hee heeee

N itss really amazing the whole storey of this flat!! a miracle!

I started looking for an apartment since my first week in HK...n the very 2nd apartment I saw (yup 'The Reading Place' - ), i sorta fell in love with it..mainly cos

-its new (buildling is only 2 years old!!! n tts rare in HK!)
- has a pool and a gym
- flat was on the 21st floor! n can see a bit of Victoria Harbour!!!
- 25 mins walk to work or 10 mins by bus
- there's a pizza hut downstairs
- there's a macs diagonally across the road
- there are 2 supermarkets 3 mins away
- there's a HSBC ATM bank 3 mins away
- there's a laundry shop 3 mins away
- n its just NICEEEEE!!

BUt..the asking price was 10.5k HKD per month!!!!!! (divide by 5.1 to get the SGD amount)..Agent tried asking for 9kHKD..but failed..I was disappointed..I knw its gonna be hard for me...my budget was only MAX 1.7k SGD!!!

So well..i kept on looking and looking. I saw about 10 the first week I was here..then back to Sg for th wekeend for Joan's wedding...n the 2nd week I was here..saw another 10 more? N 2 days back...finally saw another one I quite like.

This one is at Sheung Wan..also very near work..abt 20 mins by foot! N ask price was 9k HKD! A bit more affordable..not in as 'Atas' an area as The Reading Place..Building was very old..but the flat was renovated..white base..quite nice..much better than all the other crap i saw (other than Reading of cos)....So the agent called me yest and told me if i wnated this flat, i will need to sign the contract this morning as someone else is taking the flat in the afternoon if I do not sign!!! The agent tried negotiating the price for me...but to no avail..they refused to cut the rent..only said will buy new tv for me etc etc......Well...so I told the agent last nite..alright I will look at it one more time this morning....and decide....N I prayed really hard last nite...didnt know if I shld take it or not (well..felt a bit uncomfortable there s this red 'pin an' sticker at the entrance (the 'pai pai' kind)....)..n guess what! Last nite, I actually had a dream...that a fren was telling me not to take this flat cause it is haunted or something!!! Was more like a nitemare!!! So this morning..I woke up feeling a bit heavy laden...I knew I had to make the decision by nooon...N i really felt like just taking it cause apartment search is tiring....was very lazy.....But yet...something seem to be tugging at me not to take that flat (but then i had no other choices!!!)

So well..the agent called again this morning..confirming the meeting time at the Sheung Wan flat..n...she suddenly told me

" Hey you remember Reading place? The one you saw 2-3 weeks back?..The landlord is willing to let it out for 8.8k HKD"

I was sooo shocked!!

'Har? 8.8k? but the landlord didnt even want to let it out for 9k the other time !!! '

'Yeah..but he decided to give in.....'

WOW.. was I SURPRISED! Extremely shocked! Its really a good deal in the rental markets in HK now...especially at the 'Atahs' area the Reading Place is at..n considering the newness of the building...2 years OLD!!!!

So well..I went to see the Sheung Wan one..just one more time..and then Reading Place at lunch...just to compare one last time and decide....

After looking at both..i kept wondering to myself 'How on earth did I fal for the Sheung Wan one in the first place?, Reading is so much nicerrrr!!!'..........


Yes....God really worked in His ways and His perfect timing....He is really taking care of me from above... =)
from 10.5k to 8.8k! Tts quite a feat! N its is a very nice area......very convenient n most impt of all..VERY SAFE!! The security is extremely tight!!!

N has pool and gym!! WOAH! (i've always wanted to live in a condo again!! ;P)

Praise God..Thanks peeps and mum and dad and sistas for all ur prayers.....I feel at peace now.... =)
